This is the first Academy Awards that I watched from the beginning to the end. I am happy for the results – Brokeback Mountain for original score, Hustle & Flow for original song, Reese Witherspoon for the leading actress, Ang Lee for the best director, and Crash for the best film (a little disappointed that Brockback didn’t wine, but, hey, it’s Hollywood.)
And the best part of the Oscar night, is while Meryl Streep and Lily Tomlin saluting to Robert Altman, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
While all those young (or not young) actresses and actors are trying their best to look beautiful, watching anxiously of each of their shot and step of the way, Meryl and Lily Tomlin look so comfortable on stage by just being themselves. They were relaxed. They made jokes about how it is like to work with Robert Altman.
They were laughing, making fun of themselves, and like yet speaking everything with grace. We can all feel the genuine appreciation they have toward this man, and I just cannot stop smiling and saying “I love them” while looking the pair on the stage.
This is the kind of elegance only time can give you.
My eyes sparkled when I saw them on stage. "I WANT IT!" My heart yelled. I want their attitude - the grace, the noble, and elegance, more than anything. No beauty, gown, or jewelry can make the beauty more beautiful.
